Chairman’s Message
Kent Kay
In general things have been quiet. But, we have been busy. Prompted appropriately
by Lisa in the office, business has continued in an orderly fashion and it
seems that we are headed in a forward manner. With the help of Jim Sponable
of New York State Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation we are in the
process of acquiring a key piece of property in Philmont. Without this the
continuity of the trail would be in question or at least made more troublesome.
It is a pleasure to have eager and active people on all aspects, cooperating
and willing to give of their time, money and talents. We are trying to come up
with a procedure that can work with the DEC in order to move forward on the section
of trail from Millerton north to Undermountain Road.
We intend to keep you notified of all news related to our situation.
Until our next meeting…….be optimistic.
